Pirn And Triassi Named To CACC Women’s Cross Country All-Academic Team

2019 CACC WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) announced its women's cross country All-Academic Team on Thursday afternoon, with senior Nicole Triassi and sophomore sophomore Irene Pirn representing Concordia College on the team.

To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, a student-athletes must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of the immediate preceding term, minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution, be second year student-athlete at member institution and have been athletically eligible the season preceding the award and used a season of eligibility.

An education major, Triassi entered the season with a 3.94 cumulative GPA. Triassi set her 5K personal record during the 2019 season, recording a 36:48.6 time at the Queensborough Invitational.

An education major, Pirn held a 3.76 cumulative GPA heading into the fall. She was the first Clipper to cross the finish line twice during the 2019 season, setting her 5K PR at the 2019 CACC Championship behind a 30:28.2 time with her new 6K PR also being set this year with a 37:58.3 showing at the York College Invitational.

Pirn and Triassi are the first members of the cross country program to garner All-Academic Team distinction since Lyssa Dawson landed on the 2014 installment. The two honorees matches the program record, originally set when Yuliya Plevako and Arafat Omidiran received the distinction following the 2013 season.
