Women’s Cross Country Finishes 22nd At MSMC Knight Invite

NEWBURGH, N.Y. – Senior Yeisy Cruz ran the fasted 6K by a member of the Concordia College New York women's cross country team this season on Saturday afternoon at the MSMC Knight Invite, leading the Clippers to a runner-up showing in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II category and 22nd overall.

NOTES
• The MSMC Knight Invite featured 181 runners from 23 programs
 
HOW IT HAPPENED 

• Cruz established the Clippers fastest 6K run of the year behind a 37:21.1 time.

• Sophomore Irene Pirn crossed the finish line at the 39:09.1 mark.

• Junior Carly Acuña and freshman Leah Dillon finished within a second of each other with times of 47:30.7 and 47:31.2.

• Seniors Nicole Triassi and Taylor Scruggs recorded times of 51:37.7 and 51:38.1.

The cross country team concludes the 2019 season on Sunday, Oct. 27 at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship, set to take place at the Belmont Platueau in Philadelphia, Pa.
