BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Playing inside the Meyer Athletic Center for the final time in their collegiate careers on Saturday afternoon, senior outside hitter Camila Rabassa (Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico), senior setter Alana Rousset-Hernandez (Canovanas, Puerto Rico) and senior right-side hitter Tatienne Tugade-Sua (Kalihi, Hawaii) all led or tied for the team-lead in a statistical category in the Concordia College New York women's volleyball team's 3-1 (25-17, 20-25, 25-23, 25-20) Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) triumph over visiting University of the Sciences.
NOTES
• Concordia improves to 8-11, 7-10 in CACC play.
• USiences falls to 11-17, 8-10 in league action.
• The eight victories this season and five at home are the most since Concordia joined the CACC in the 2010-11 academic year. The last time the Clippers had a winning record on its homecourt was in 2007.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Rabassa boasted a season-high two solo blocks with four assisted for six total which matches a season-high while also matching her season-best with two service aces.
• Tugade-Sua matched her season-best with 11 terminations to go with nine digs.
• Rousset-Hernandez dished out a team-high 22 assists with nine digs and one service ace.
• Junior libero Nelly Diaz (Land O' Lakes, Fla.) tallied 25 digs with two service aces.
• Freshman middle blocker Madison Gardner (Oak Hills, Calif.) logged 11 kills.
• Freshman defensive specialist Lydimar Soto De Los Santos (Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico) served two aces with 12 digs and eight kills.
• For USciences, Tori Wright boasted 17 kills and three service aces while Angeli Roman Medina logged 20 assists with three aces and 11 digs and Lauren Lim tallied 19 digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• With the score tied early in the first set 10-10, Concordia used a 4-1 stretch to take a 14-11 and kept the separation above two for the remainder of the stanza.
• Trailing by as many as nine in the second set, Concordia rallied to cut the deficit down to two late at 22-20 before three-straight from the visiting side ended the frame.
• Concordia overcame an early 10-5 deficit to even the score at 14-all, with the two sides going back-and-forth down the stretch with eight knotted scores before the Clippers tallied back-to-back points to take a 2-1 overall lead.
• After splitting the initial 36 points of the fourth stanza for a 19-19 score, Concordia used a 6-1 run to end the match.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Concordia finished the match with 48 kills on a .211 hitting percentage versus 46 on a .163 clip for USciences.
• Concordia held a 65-61 advantage in digs.
• Concordia served eight aces, the visitors served nine.
• Concordia recorded two solo blocks with eight assisted for six total while USciences tallied three solo with four assisted for five overall.
