Volleyball Travels To Holy Family Saturday

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Concordia College New York women's volleyball team hits the road to take on defending Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Champion and 2018 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II East Regional finalist Holy Family University on Saturday, Oct. 12 in a 12 p.m. contest.

About the Clippers
Concordia (3-4, 3-4 CACC) hits the road following its first 3-0 victory of the season on Tuesday, Oct. 8 against Dominican College (N.Y.). The Clippers boast a CACC-leading 18.25 digs per set with 11.43 kills that ranks third in the league on a .143 hitting percentage on top of 1.46 service aces and 1.36 blocks.

Freshman middle blockers Madison Gardner (Oak Hills, Calif.) sparks the offense behind a team-best 2.68 kills and .195 hitting percentage while ranking in the top-10 of the CACC in blocks and service aces with rates of 0.79 and 0.50 and that place seventh and eighth respectively. Junior libero Nelly Diaz (Land O Lakes, Fla.) boasts the fifth-highest dig per set average in the league at 5.00, while sophomore right-side hitter Militza De Hostos (Bayamon, Puerto Rico) dishes out a team-best 4.61 assists.

About the Tigers
Holy Family (9-8, 4-3 CACC) returns home after outlasting Goldey-Beacom College 3-2 on Thursday, Oct. 10. The Tigers lead the conference in kills per set and assists behind averages of 12.05 and 11.52 with the second-best digs per set rate in the league at 16.97 on top of 1.98 service aces, 1.11 blocks and a .146 hitting percentage.

Morgan Silks masterminds the HFU offense behind 10.52 assists, feeding the ball to Carly Covington who boasts a team-leading 3.67 kills per set. Silks adds a team-high 0.50 service aces, with Gianna Pesognelli chipping in a team-best 0.52 blocks while Jillian Boyle anchors the defense with 4.52 digs.
