Volleyball Seniors Set Career-Highs In 3-2 Setback At Felician

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Senior outside hitter Camila Rabassa (Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico) and senior setter Alana Rousset-Hernandez (Canovanas, Puerto Rico) both established new career-highs on Wednesday evening, while freshman middle blocker Tanializ Rivera (Caolina, Puerto Rico) set a new personal plateau in a 3-2 (23-25, 25-19, 21-25, 25-11, 15-8) Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) setback at Felician University.

NOTES
• Concordia falls to 2-3, 2-3 in CACC action.

• Felician improves to 6-12, 4-1 in league play.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Rivera boasted a personal-best 14 kills on a .211 hitting percentage on top of nine digs and two assisted blocks.

• Rabassa assisted on five blocks with one solo for a career-high six total.

• Rouset-Hernandez dished out a team-high and career-high 26 assists to go with eight digs.

• Junior libero Nelly Diaz (Land O Lakes, Fla.) registered a team-high 27 digs. 

• Sophomore right-side hitter Militza De Hostos (Bayamon, Puerto Rico) recorded her fifth-straight double-double with 14 digs and 12 assists.

• Freshman middle blocker Madison Gardner (Oak Hills, Calif.) chipped in 11 kills on a .229 clip with two solo blocks and one service ace.

• For Felician, Raamiah Edwards recorded a double-double with 11 kills and 18 digs while Miquela Martinez used 37 assists and 3 digs for a double-double.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
• Concordia jumped out to an early 7-0 lead in the opening set before Felician responded with a 9-4 stretch to cut the separation to two at 11-9. The Golden Falcons used a 4-0 rally to take its first lead of the evening at 17-16, leading by as many as three at 21-18 before a 7-2 Clippers run ended the frame.

• Felician scored the opening six points of the second stanza and never trailed. The Clippers got as close as three late at 19-16, but a 9-3 run by the host evened the overall score.

• The Clippers scored seven of the initial 10 points of the third frame to take an early advantage, leading by as many as six at 11-5 before five-straight points from the home side made it a one-point game at 11-10. Felician knotted the score at 16-all, but Concordia broke the tie with three-consecutive points and maintained the lead for the remainder of the set.

• Concordia took the opening point of the fourth frame, but Felician scored the ensuing six before creating a double-digit separation at 15-5. Concordia cut the deficit down to single digits at 16-8 behind a 3-0 run, only for a 6-1 retort making it 22-9.

• With the fifth set up in the air at 7-6 in favor of Felician, the host scored five-unanswered points to boast a 12-6 advantage. The Clippers responded with back-to-back points, only for a 3-0 Felician run to end the contest.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 
• Concordia finished the match with 46 kills on a .088 hitting percentage versus 50 on a .144 clip for Felician

• Felician held a 97-84 advantage in digs.

• The host served nine aces, Concordia served five.

• Felician logged 22 assisted blocks for 11 total while the Clippers had three solo blocks and five assisted for eight total.
