BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Highlighted by two entries in the program record book for team statistics and two seniors graduating with their names placed amongst the best in program history, the Concordia College New York women's volleyball team went 1-22 in 2018 with a 1-18 record in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play.

Opening the season at Pace University, Concordia quickly entered CACC play with a home match against Nyack College in its second contest of the campaign. Half of the Clippers' matches during Sept. went to a fourth set, with one five-set match against Goldey-Beacom College.

Beginning Oct. with four-straight 3-1 results, Concordia fell in back-to-back 3-0 decisions before defeating Dominican College (N.Y.) 3-0 during Homecoming. The Clippers ended its road slate with three-straight 3-0 setbacks, concluding the 2018 season at home with a pair of matches against postseason-bound Caldwell University and Felician University.

The 2018 team etched its name in the program record book with the sixth-highest digs per set average and 10th-best service aces per set rate with marks of 14.74 and 1.72. Senior setter Bianca Ortiz (Ponce, Puerto Rico) ended her collegiate career with 1,322 assists, sixth most in program history, on a 5.31 per set rate that ranks 10th while senior middle blocker Lauren Peters (Monterey Park, Calif.) graduated with the fourth-most solo blocks (32), sixth-most total blocks (135) and eighth-most assisted blocks (103)

Junior right-side hitter Tatienne Tugade-Sua (Kalihi, Hawaii) led the Clippers in digs and kills with 279 (3.49 per set) and 173 (2.16 per set), with Ortiz boasting a team-leading 469 assists (5.86 per set) and 32 service aces (0.40 per set) while Peters contributed a team-best 49 blocks (0.61 per set)

For their work in the classroom, Ortiz and junior outside hitter Camila Rabassa (Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico) were named to the CACC All-Academic Team.
