Oliveira Named Volleyball Interim Head coach

BRONXVILLE, N.Y.Sttefany Oliveira has been elevated to the position of interim head coach of the Concordia College New York volleyball program for the 2019 season, Director of Athletics Kathy Laoutaris '93 has announced. Oliveira replaces Philip Toscano, who led the team for two seasons.

Under her guidance, the 2018 team etched its name in the program record book with the sixth-highest digs per set average and 10th-best service aces per set rate with marks of 14.74 and 1.72.

"Sttef has been with the program as an assistant for two years and has built a great rapport with the student-athletes," Laoutaris said. "Her dedication and eagerness to build a successful program has us very excited for volleyball this fall."

Along with her responsibilities at Concordia, Oliveira also coaches for the Westchester PRIDE Volleyball Club. Being with the club since 2014, Oliveira has coached the club's 14U, 15U and 16U with stints as the assistant coach for the 17U and 18U teams. Under her tutelage, three teams have won tournaments with first-place finishes at the CT Winter Fest Tournament, Core Tournament and St. John's Tournament. She is currently the head coach for the Pride's 14U and summer development program.

Oliveira got her coaching start in 2014 at Lincoln High School, where she was the head coach for one season.

Oliveira attended Westchester Community College, where she was a three-sport student-athlete playing volleyball, women's basketball and softball, for two years before receiving her Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Buffalo State College.
