FLUSHING, N.Y.. – The Concordia College volleyball team took a brief hiatus from Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play on Tuesday evening in a midweek tilt at Queens, falling to the host Knights 3-1.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Junior right-side hitter Tatienne Tugade-Sua (Kalihi, Hawaii) led the offense with 13 kills while contributing 12 digs for her second double-double of the year.
• Freshman setter Alejandra Perez (Dorado, Puerto Rico) notched her first collegiate double-double with 11 assists and a career-high 12 digs.
• Freshman outside hitter Nilka Rivera (Bayamon, Puerto Rico) recorded her second double-double of the season with 12 digs and 11 kills, matching her career-high, while also matching her personal best with three service aces.
• Junior libero Alana Rousset-Hernandez (Canovanas, Puerto Rico) anchored the defense with 19 digs to go with a service ace.
• Senior setter Bianca Ortiz (Ponce, Puerto Rico.) dished out a team-best 25 assists with two service aces and six digs.
• For Queens, Lauren Kehoe posted 12 kills while Alisha Matthews dished out 32 assists and Leeks Hollis logged 11 digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Neither side led by more than four in the opening frame, with the Clippers using a 6-1 run when trailing 8-7 to create a 13-9 advantage. Queens rallied to even the score at 14 all and took a two-point lead at 18-16 after a 3-0 spree. Concordia reclaimed the edge at 23-22, but three-straight tallies for the Knights ended the set.
• Concordia opened the second set with three-straight points, but a 7-1 retort from Queens flipped the three-point advantage in the hosts favor at 7-4. The Clippers reclaimed the lead off a 5-0 rally to create a 13-11 score, but a 4-0 response from Queens made it 15-13. Concordia knotted the score four times down the stretch, including at 23-23, but were unable to take the lead for the remainder of the frame.
• Trailing from the get-go after Queens began the stanza on a 6-1 run, a senior middle blocker Lauren Peters' (Monterey Park, Calif.) termination sparked a set-ending 9-0 Concordia run that saw three more kills from Peters including the final two points of the frame.
• Queens scored the initial four points of the fourth frame, and held onto the lead for the entire stanza. The Clippers tried to recreate the run that propelled them to the third-set triumph with five-straight points late to make it 19-17, but a 6-1 stretch by Queens ended the contest.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Concordia finished the match with 42 kills on a .038 hitting percentage versus 38 on a .100 clip for Queens
• Concordia held a 70-49 advantage in digs.
• Concordia served eight aces, Queens recorded nine.
• The Clippers posted on block while Queens had four.
