Women's Volleyball Falls in CACC Action at Nyack, 3-1

NYACK, N.Y. - The Concordia Clippers women's volleyball team visited Nyack College on Tuesday evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division match. Concordia would take a set in the match at Bowman Gym, but the Warriors would take the 3-1 victory.

Nyack began the match with a 25-19 win in the opening set as the Clippers bounced back to tie the match after a 25-23 second set victory. The third set would also be a close finish as the Warriors edged out a 25-21 win to take a 2-1 lead in the match. Nyack put the match away in the fourth set as the Warriors secured a 25-11 victory for their first win of the season.

Sophomore Camila Rabassa (Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico) led the offense for Concordia with nine kills as sophomore Tatienne Tugade-Sua (Kalihi, Hawaii) added six kills and senior Jenny Martin (Simi Valley, Calif.) added five kills. Junior Bianca Ortiz (Ponce, Puerto Rico) had a match-high 25 assists while Tugade-Sua led the defense with a match-high 19 digs.

The Clippers (0-2, 0-2 CACC) will next host Post University on Friday at 6 p.m. for their first home match of the season.
