Women’s Volleyball Drops CACC Match at Nyack, 3-2

NYACK, N.Y. - The Concordia College women's volleyball team visited Nyack College for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division match on Wednesday evening. The Clippers were unable to come away with the win as the Warriors secured a 3-2 victory at Bowman Gymnasium.

Nyack would take the opening set 25-21 but Concordia would respond in the second set with a 30-28 victory to knot the match at 1-1. The Clippers used a 25-18 win in the third set to take the advantage in the match. The Warriors would battle their way back in the fourth set with a 25-18 victory of their own and then put Concordia away in the fifth set with a 20-18 win.

Freshman Sydney Darden (Marietta, Ga.) led Concordia with a team-high 18 kills while junior Zoe Mannino (Spring Hill, Fla.) added in 12 kills of her own. Freshman Jenny Martin (Simi Valley, Calif.) finished with match-high 47 assists while freshman Celine Arada (San Francisco, Calif.) recorded a team-best 36 digs for the Clippers.

Concordia (1-9, 0-8 CACC) will host Georgian Court University in their next match on Saturday, October 11th.
