Women’s Tennis Treks To Delaware For Pair Of Pivotal CACC Weekend Matches

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Concordia College New York women's tennis team hits the road to take on a pair of 2019 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II National Championship participants in back-to-back matches, starting at defending Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Champions Wilmington University (Del.) on Saturday, Oct. 12 before traveling to Goldey-Beacom College on Sunday, Oct. 13 in a matchup between two undefeated teams.

About the Clippers
Concordia (7-0, 5-0 CACC) returns to CACC action following a 6-1 triumph against Lewis University on Thursday, Oct. 10.

Freshmen Paula Palero (Cullera, Spain) and Ebba Rosberg (Stockholm, Sweden) both hold 13 victories this fall, with the two pairing up for six triumphs in doubles play on top of 7-0 marks in singles action. Junior Ann Kathrin Wirlitsch (Dresden, Germany) and freshman Alexandra Dumitrescu (Spring, Texas) team up in the Clippers' only undefeated doubles team at 6-0, with each adding six victories in singles action for 12 combined victories apiece.

About the Wildcats
Wilmington (2-6, 2-4 CACC) hosts Concordia after falling against Goldey-Beacom 6-1 on Wednesday, Oct. 9.

Andrea Ribalta boasts a team-best nine combined victories, going 6-2 in singles action with three triumphs in doubles alongside Mallory Nolte. Laura Gil and Sabrina Blasi-Smith pair up for three victories at the Wildcats' top doubles position, with Gil chipping in five individual victories for eight overall.

About the Lightning
Goldey-Beacom (6-0, 6-0 CACC) entertains Caldwell University on Saturday, Oct. 12 before Concordia.

Sara Edebo is undefeated in both singles and doubles play with nine combined victories, pairing up with Alma Garcia Valle for a 5-0 record while Anna Hortelano Pey boasts an unblemished 6-0 mark in singles.
