BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Concordia College New York women's tennis team earned a share of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Regular Season Title for the first time since 2015 during the 2018-19 season, going 7-1 in league play while advancing to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II National Tournament behind a 15-8 overall record.

Kicking off the season at home against Adelphi University, Concordia followed the home opener with a road tilt at Molloy College before taking part in the annual Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) East Regional. Senior Kristel Kalm (Stockholm, Sweden) and sophomore Franziska Putschbach (Moenchweiler, Germany) advanced to the quarterfinals in the doubles bracket while senior Tadi Mrewa (East London, South Africa) recorded three victories in the singles draw.

CACC play began for the Clippers with five-straight victories, three by 7-0 scores, with triumphs against Caldwell University, Holy Family University, Post University, Chestnut Hill College and the University of the Sciences before taking on eventual CACC Tournament Champions Wilmington University (Del.). Concordia dipped out of league play with a road tilt at LIU Post before concluding its CACC slate with back-to-back victories against Jefferson University and Goldey-Beacom College.

Earning the No. 3 seed in the CACC Championship, Concordia bested Jefferson 4-0 and Goldey-Beacom 4-3 to advance to the CACC Championship Final against Wilmington.

Concordia's spring season opened with four matches in Orlando, Fla., defeating Minn. St. Mankato and the University of Findlay before falling to NCAA National Tournament qualifiers Grand Valley State University and Flagler College.

The Clippers returned north with a three-match homestand, hosting NCAA Division I Fairleigh Dickinson University, D3's Brooklyn College plus St. Thomas Aquinas College with the victory over STAC serving as Neil Tarrangioli's 100th as the head coach of the program. The 2018-19 regular season concluded at NYIT.

Concordia qualified for the NCAA Tournament, facing off against Goldey-Beacom in the East Region #2 bracket hosted by Stonehill College.

Mrewa paced the team with 19 victories in singles action, while sophomores Angelica Karlsson Hantzis (Fuengirola, Malaga, Spain) and Josefina Torres Martin (Miami, Fla.) both won 19 matches in doubles play.

Karlsson Hantzis and Torres Martin were both named CACC All-Conference First Team honorees, while Mrewa received Second-Team distinction. Kalm, Karlsson Hantzis, Putschbach and sophomore Katrina Sta Cruz (Las Vegas, Nev.) were all named to the CACC All-Academic Team in the fall, with Kalm, Karlsson Hantzis, Mrewa and Putschbach all earning ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades.

Karlsson Hantzis earned two CACC Player of the Week nods during the 2018-19 season with one Co-Player of the Month plaudit in the spring. Torres Martin got one CACC Player of the Week distinction during the season.
