BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Concordia College New York women's soccer team concluded its 2019 season on Friday afternoon, with the Clippers going into halftime against Caldwell in a one-goal contest before a pair of second-half scores from the visitors lifted them to a 4-1 decision.
NOTES
• Concordia ends the season with a 5-10-1 record, 3-8-1 in CACC play.
• Caldwell improves to 9-3-3, 8-1-3 in league action
• Concordia ends the season with 57 total points, the third-most in program history. The Clippers' 21 goals ties for the fourth-most on record, with the team's 15 assist ranking second in the program record book.
• The five victories this year ranks second in the program record book, while the three shutout triumphs is a program record.
• Freshman forward Leigh-Ann Ramsay (Bronx, N.Y.) ended the year with 15 total points, the 10th-most in program history.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Sophomore forward Jimena Garcia-Risoto (Madrid, Spain) scored her fifth goal of the year off four shots with two on goal.
• Ramsay dished out her third assist of the season while talking two shots with one on frame.
• Redshirt-sophomore keeper Sophia Cogan (Seal Beach, Calif.) stopped seven shots.
• For Caldwell, Sarah Costanza found the back of the net three times with Meghan Grundhauser adding one score while Nicole Alfano, Teaghan Darling and Lucy Rennar all tallied an assist.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Costanza connected on a penalty-kick attempt in the 20th minute to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.
• Ramsay found Garcia-Risoto in the 28th minute to even the score at 1-all.
• Caldwell capitalized on a corner-kick opportunity in the 42nd minute with Alfano and Darling getting the ball to Grundhauser to create a 2-1 halftime score.
• Costanza gave Caldwell a 3-1 advantage in the 50th minute off a pass from Rennar.
• Constanza created the final score with an unassisted score in the 55th minute.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Concordia took 16 shots with eight on target, Caldwell took 19 with 12 on goal.
• Caldwell held a 7-5 advantage in corner kicks.
• Neither side received a caution.
