Late Rally Pushes Post Past Women’s Soccer, 4-3

WATERBURYConn. – Despite a strong showing from its freshman class on Wednesday afternoon, with midfielder Leigh-Ann Ramsay (Bronx, N.Y.) scoring a pair of goals for the Concordia College New York women's soccer team and defender Morganne Cartee (New Milford, Conn.) contributing her first collegiate goal, Post University used a late rally with a pair of scores in the final 10 minutes of play to take the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest, 4-3. 

 NOTES 
• Concordia falls to 4-5-12-3-1 in CACC play. 
• Post improves to 4-3-2, 4-1 in league action. 

STANDOUT PERFORMERS 
• Ramsay took a team-high three shots with two on goal.

• Cartee took two shots with both on target.

• Junior midfielder Cassandra Iantomasi (Oshawa, Ontario, Canada) dished out one assist.

• Freshman keeper Meagan Meuweisse (Beacom, N.Y.), the reigning CACC Goalie of the Week, stopped five shots.

• For Post, Hailey McGee scored three goals with Lydia Asamoah adding one score while Samantha Brostek logged one assist.

HOW IT HAPPENED  
• Iantomasi found Ramsay in the 31st minute to push the Clippers ahead, 1-0. 

 Brostek connected with McGee in the 40th minute to knot the score at 1-0. 

• Just over a minute after Post evened the score, Ramsay gave Concordia a 2-1 lead with her second goal of the contest. 

 McGee made it a 2-2 contest in the 58th minute. 

 Cartee gave the Clippers a late 3-2 advantage with a goal in the 73rd minute. 

 McGee evened the score in the 84th minute. 

 Asamoah scored the game-winning goal in the 88th minute. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE  
• Concordia took six shots with five on target, Post took 17 with nine on goal. 

• Post held a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks. 

• Both sides received one caution. 
 
UP NEXT 
The Clippers travels to Nyack College on Tuesday, Oct. 15 with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
