BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Concordia College New York women's soccer team kicks off the 2019 campaign on Sunday, Sept. 8 at Queens College (N.Y.) in a 2 p.m. contest.

About the Clippers
Concordia opens up the new season after going 2-13 last year, 2-10 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play. The Clippers averaged 0.47 goals on a .053 percentage while allowing 4.27 goals.

Concordia brings back five key contributors from last season, with senior defender Abby Chaput (Cheshire, Mass.), junior midfielder Kayla Lanza (New Milford, Conn.), senior midfielder Miranda Merino (Victorville, Calif.) and senior midfielder DiAnna Moreno (Rock Springs, Wyo.) all starting in every contest last year while senior Caitlin Ziemba (Assonet, Mass.) also returners after making 11 starts during 2018.

Offensively, the Clippers return the top two scorers from last year in senior forward Sara Calvert (Apple Valley, Calif.) and Alaina Rabusin (Cortland, N.Y.) with junior midfielder Cassandra Iantomasi (Oshawa, Ontario, Canada) and Lanza both chipping in one goal and one assist in their sophomore campaigns.

In goal, redshirt-junior Sophia Cogan (Seal Beach, Calif.) and freshman Meagan Meuweisse (Beacom, N.Y.) are the keepers on the 2019 roster. Cogan has made seven appearance in her Concordia career with 29 saves.

About the Knights
Queens (0-1) welcomes Concordia for its home opener after falling in its first contest of 2019 3-0 at The College of Saint Rose on Thursday, Sept. 5.

Victoria Ramirez led the Knights' offense in their season opener with three shots, two on target, while Sarah Marino and Sara Messemer both taking a pair of shots with Messemer having one on target.

Ariana Vargas logged a complete game in goal for Queens, recording four saves in the loss.
