Women’s Soccer Falls At Merrimack, 9-0

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Concordia College (N.Y.) women's soccer team traveled to Merrimack for a non-conference contest on Monday afternoon, falling to the host Warriors 9-0.

NOTES
• Concordia falls to 1-9.

• Merrimack improves to 6-4-1

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
•Freshman keeper Jocelyn Hellier (Lithia, Fla.) recorded 15 saves, the third-most by a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) goalie this season with her season-opening mark of 17 matching Paris Banks of Chestnut Hill for the most this year.

• Sophomore midfielder Cassandra Iantomasi (Oshawa, Ontario, Canada) took one shot on goal.

• Senior forward Dayna Darcy (Plainedge, N.Y.) logged on shot on target.

• For Merrimack, Erin Tyldesley and Taylor Robertson both scored two goals with an assist while Gigi Guenther scored twice with Tori Daigle, Taylor Cogliano and Nicole Langlois all scoring once.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
• Merrimack took a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute with Amber Gustafason finding Langlois for the first goal of the afternoon.

• The Warriors extended the separation to with goals from Guenther and Tyldesley in the 21st and 28th minute, with a Robertson score in the 42nd minute creating a 4-0 halftime score.

• Merrimack added a pair of goals to its lead in the opening 10 minutes of the second half with Cogliano and Guenther scoring in the 48th and 54th minute making it 6-0.

• Warrior scores from Daige, Tydesley and Robertson in the 74th, 78th and 80th minutes created the final score.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 
• Concordia recorded four shots, two on goal versus 37 with 24 on target for Merrimack.

• Merrimack held a 9-3 advantage in corner kicks.

• Neither side received a caution.

The women's soccer team returns to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play on Saturday, Oct. 13 at Goldey-Beacom College in a 12:30 p.m. match.
