BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Concordia College (N.Y.) women's soccer team traveled to Wilmington University (Del.) on Saturday afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play, falling to the host Wildcats 8-1.
NOTES
• Concordia falls to 1-6 overall, 1-5 in CACC action.
• Wilmington improves to 6-5, 5-1 in league play.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Freshman forward Alaina Rabusin (Cortland, N.Y.) scored her first collegiate goal.
• Senior forward Dayna Darcy (Plainedge, N.Y.) took a team-best two shots, both on target.
• Freshman keeper Jocelyn Hellier (Lithia, Fla.) recorded seven saves with five goals allowed in 61:27 minutes in goal while redshirt freshman Sophia Cogan (Seal Beach, Calif.) logged the remaining 28:33 minutes with three saves and three goals allowed.
• For Wilmington, Jasmine Brake and Emily Navarrete both scored two goals with Rebecca Dolhansky recording two assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Navarrete got Wilmington on the scoreboard in the opening minute, heading the ball in off a pass from Alex Keck.
• The Wildcasts scored back-to-back unassisted goals from Brake and Cassidy McErlain in the 31st and 35th minute to extend the separation to 3-0.
• Rabusin capitalized on a Wilmington miscommunication in the 40th minute to make it 3-1.
• The host added one more goal in the opening half, with Dolhansky finding Brake for her second score of the contest.
• Navarrete kicked off the second half the same way she did the first, with Robbins finding the Wildcat in the 46th minute.
• Goals from La'Dae Boykin, Allison Hartwyk and Krysta Memis in the 70th, 72nd and 80th minute created the final score.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Concordia recorded three shots, all on goal versus 31 with 19 on target for Wilmington.
• Wilmington held an 11-1 advantage in corner kicks.
• Neither side received a caution.
