Hellier Etches Name In Women’s Soccer Record Book in Loss To Parkside

RINDGE, N.H. – The Concordia College Women's Soccer team began its season on Saturday afternoon against the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, falling to the Rangers 3-0.
 
NOTES
• Concordia drops to 0-1 on the season.

• UW-Parkside improves to 1-1.

• Freshman goalkeeper Jocelyn Hellier (Lithia, Fla.) boasted 17 saves in her collegiate career, the most by a Clipper under head coach Kelci Hegg and the most recorded since Mary Darbee had 18 against Bridgeport on Sept. 29, 2007.
 
STANDOUT PERFORMERS

• Hellier logged 82:30 in her first collegiate contest, with redshirt freshman Sophia Cogan (Seal Beach, Calif.) protecting the goal for the final 7:30 of play.

• Senior defender Taylor Codner (Houston, Texas) recorded the Clippers' lone shot attempt.

• For Parkside, Myah Strokosch, Maddison Te Stroete and Delaney Benich all scored goals with Kaylee Siegel providing one assist.

 
HOW IT HAPPENED 

• Parkside began the contest with five shots in the opening 10 minutes. The Rangers got two on target, both in the seventh minute, with Hellier stopping both shots for her first two collegiate saves.

• Hellier stopped six more shots before the half ended, keeping the score 0-0 at the intermission.

• In similar fashion to the first half, Parkside began the final 45 minutes with five shots on target in the opening five minutes but were unable to get one past Hellier.  

• Parkside got on the scoreboard in the 58th minute off the foot of Strokosch. Seven minutes later, Te Stoete scored her first goal of the season to extend the separation to 2-0.

• The Rangers added one more goal to their total in the 78th minute, with Benich scoring off a pass from Siegel.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 

• Concordia recorded one shot on goal versus 36 shots, 20 on target, for Parkside.

• Parkside had two corner kicks.

• Parkside received the lone caution of the contest.
