Concordia Women's Soccer Edged by Nyack in Season Finale, 2-1

NYACK, N.Y. - The Concordia College women's soccer team played in their final game of the season on Wednesday evening at Nyack College. The Clippers would hold a halftime lead, but the Warriors managed to earn a 2-1 come-from-behind victory.

Concordia scored their goal in the 13th minute as junior Dayna Darcy (Plainedge, N.Y.) took a shot from 25 yards out for her third goal of the season. The Clippers were out-shot 5-2 in the first 45 minutes of play, but held a 1-0 lead at halftime.

In the second half Nyack would score the equalizer in the 72nd minute off a rebounded shot. The Warriors scored the go-ahead goal seven minutes later to lead 2-1. Concordia would have two shots on net in the closing minutes, but were unable to tie the game as Nyack held on for a 2-1 win.

Freshman goalkeeper Kayla Lanza (New Milford, Conn.) recorded eight saves for the Clippers as Concordia was out-shot 17-6 overall in the game. The Warriors also held a 5-1 advantage in corner kick opportunities.
