Women's Soccer Defeated at St. Thomas Aquinas in Non-Conference Action

SPARKILL, N.Y. - The Concordia College women's soccer team took a break from their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) schedule on Tuesday afternoon to visit the St. Thomas Aquinas Spartans. The Clippers were unable to grab the road win as St. Thomas Aquinas captured a 3-0 victory at Spartan Field.

St. Thomas Aquinas scored their first goal of the game in the 7th minute of action and would add another goal right before the 23rd minute mark to lead 2-0. Concordia took three shots in the first 45 minutes of play with one being on target as the Spartans led 2-0 at halftime.

In the second half St. Thomas Aquinas scored their final goal in the 64th minute as the Clippers took five shots, three of which were on net. Concordia was unable to get a shot past the Spartan goalkeeper as St. Thomas Aquinas took the 3-0 win.

Freshman goalkeeper Christina Majdanski (Yonkers, N.Y.) recorded four saves for the Clippers as Concordia was out-shot 11-8. The Clippers held a slim 2-1 edge in corner kick opportunities.

Concordia (1-11-0, 1-7-0 CACC) will return home for their next three games beginning on Saturday afternoon. The Clippers will host Chestnut Hill for a CACC game beginning at 12 p.m. at Holtdorf Soccer Field.
