Clippers Women’s Soccer Drops CACC Match at Jefferson

PHILADELPHIA - The Concordia Clippers women's soccer team visited Jefferson University for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game on Saturday afternoon. Concordia was unable to grab the road victory as the Rams took a 5-1 decision at Ravenhill Field.

The first 30 minutes of play would go scoreless in the game until Jefferson tallied their first goal of the game in the 31st minute. The Rams' added their second goal in the 35th minute as the Clippers took only one shot in the half as Jefferson led 2-0 after 45 minutes of play.

The Rams would add three goals to their total in the second half as Jefferson found the back of the net in the 56th, 78th, and 87th minutes. Concordia scored their lone goal of the game with 48 seconds to go as freshman Cassandra Iantomasi (Oshawa, Ontario, Canada) found sophomore Sara Calvert (Apple Valley, Calif.) for her team-leading third goal of the season.

Freshman goalkeeper Christina Majdanski (Yonkers, N.Y.) recorded a career-high 10 saves for the Clippers as Concordia was out-shot 24-4 in the game. The Rams would also hold a 7-0 advantage in corner kick opportunities.

Concordia (1-10-0, 1-7-0 CACC) will take a break from their conference schedule to visit St. Thomas Aquinas on Tuesday afternoon.
