Clippers Shut Out by Wilmington (Del.), 6-0

Newark, Del. – The Concordia women's soccer team visited Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent Wilmington (Del.) University for a Saturday afternoon match. The Clippers suffered their 11th defeat of the season as the Wildcats took a 6-0 victory for their sixth win in conference play.

Wilmington would score their first goal of the match in the fifth minute and would add four more goals within a five minute span to take a 5-0 lead at the half. The Wildcats' last goal occurred in the 61st minute as Concordia was outshot 24-2 in the game. Freshman Johana Vargas (Queens, N.Y.) recorded nine saves for the Clippers as Wilmington held a 9-1 edge in corner kick opportunities.

Concordia (0-11-0, 0-8-0 CACC) will return home for their next game. The Clippers will host Dominican (N.Y.) on Tuesday afternoon at Holtdorf Soccer Field. The action begins at 3pm and fans unable to attend can follow the action via Live Stats on ConcordiaClippers.com.
