Late Goals by Caldwell Secures 3-1 Win over Concordia

Caldwell, NJ – The Concordia College Clippers women's soccer team traveled to Caldwell College this evening for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) matchup. The Cougars captured their seventh win of the season in a 3-1 victory over the Clippers.

Concordia would strike first on the scoreboard as junior Iyesha Ollivierre (Trinidad & Tobago) scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season at the 16 minute mark. Bridgitte McCalla (Queens, NY) made a pass from the right side of the field and Ollivierre headed the ball into the back of the net to give the Clippers a 1-0 lead.

Seven minutes later, Caldwell would get the equalizer as Natalie Migoya (Lincoln Park, NJ) scored her team-leading ninth goal of the season off a corner kick by Ashlee Paknis (Little Egg Harbor, NJ).

The game winning goal would be scored during the 65th minute as Giana Scerbo (Ridgefield Park, NJ) scored off a rebound for the Cougars. An insurance goal would be added ten minutes later by Megan Ferrara (Clifton, NJ) to secure the 3-1 victory for Caldwell.

Jessica Nanan (Queens, NY) recorded eight saves for Concordia while Kristina Cabales (Islip Terrace, NY) made six saves for the Cougars. The Clippers were outshot by a margin of 21-10 in the game.

Concordia (2-11, 0-10 CACC) will host Chestnut Hill College this Sunday, October 23rd for a 1pm match. The game will take place at SUNY Purchase and directions can be found at the Clippers' women's soccer schedule on ConcordiaClippers.com.
