Concordia (N.Y.) Looses First Conference Game, 5-1 to Felician

Lyndhurst, N.J. – The Concordia College (N.Y.) Clippers women's soccer team played at Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent Felician this afternoon. The game was originally scheduled to be played at Concordia but because of field conditions the game was played at Felician. The Golden Falcons got the better of the Clippers winning by a score of 5-1.

Two minutes into the game, Felician got on the scoreboard with a goal by Stephanie Jimenez. Teammate Alysia Arcona took a corner kick that was received off the shoulder by Jimenez for the first goal of the game. Clippers' Iyesha Ollivierre would get her third goal of the season after she eluded two defenders and took a shot to the far post at the 15 minute mark.

Jimenez would end up scoring two more goals in the game to put the Golden Eagles in front 3-1 with 15 minutes to play in the game. Felician added two more insurance goals before the game was over.

Clippers goalkeeper Jessica Nanan recorded four saves in the loss while Allie Couzo made three saves for Felician's second win of the season. Concordia was outshot 21-11 in the game and the Golden Eagles held a 13-2 edge in corner kicks.

Concordia (2-2, 0-1 CACC) will play their last away game to begin the season on Saturday, September 10th. The Clippers will travel to Philadelphia University for a 2:30pm kickoff.
