Women’s Basketball Welcomes Felician Saturday For Senior Day

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Concordia College New York women's basketball team hosts its final opponent of the 2019-20 season on Saturday, Feb. 22 when Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division rival Felician University comes to the Meyer Athletic Center for a 1 p.m. contest.

Concordia (6-19, 5-11 CACC) wraps up its home slate after besting Nyack College 72-68 on Tuesday, Feb. 18. The Clippers lead the CACC behind 11.0 team steals, the 26th-highest average amongst all Division II programs with 276 total which ranks 23rd nationally, while averaging 60.5 points on a .329 field goal percentage with 40.1 rebounds, 12.7 assists and 2.7 blocks.

Senior guard Nicole Nicholson (Staten Island, N.Y.) leads the CACC in steals per game and ranks 15th nationally behind a 2.9 rate for 72 total which sits 11th in the country on top of a team-best 11.3 points. Junior guard Shanice Graves (Brooklyn, N.Y.) joins in Nicholson in the top-10 of the conference in steals with 2.0, seventh-highest in the league, while chipping in 10.8 points and a team-best 0.6 blocks with freshman forward Jaayden Lafontant (Thiells, N.Y.) pulling down a team-leading 6.1 rebounds including 3.2 off the offensive glass which ranks fourth in the league. Sophomore guard Sara Hopkins (Mountain Top, Pa.) dishes out 3.6 assists which ranks sixth within the conference over 36.6 minutes which places second in the CACC and 23rd nationally, while freshman guard Christina Brown (Ardmore, Pa.) adds 10.8 points with the seventh-most free throws made in the conference at 74.

About the Golden Falcons
Felician (3-20, 2-14 CACC) plays its penultimate road contest of the season after dropping a 91-44 contest at Post University on Tuesday, Feb. 18. The Golden Falcons average 58.9 points on a .338 clip with 38.0 points, 9.8 assists, 9.3 steals and 2.3 blocks.

Briana Lee powers Felician's attack behind 15.4 points, ninth-best rate in the league, adding a team-best 8.8 rebounds that ranks third in the conference and 2.2 steals which sits fourth. Tania Scott dishes out a team-high 2.5 assists, with Damia Jordan adding a team-leading 0.8 blocks.
