Brown Named CACC Women’s Basketball Rookie Of The Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) announced its women's basketball weekly award winners on Monday afternoon, with Concordia College New York freshman guard Christina Brown (Ardmore, Pa.) being tabbed as the league's Rookie of the Week.

Brown averaged 17.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 3.0 steals over the Clippers' two contests this past week. She played a pivotal role in Concordia's National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) record 28-point deficit at Caldwell University on Wednesday, scoring 13 or her team-high 20 points over the final 15 minutes of the 76-74 overtime victory while also setting her career-high for assists with eight in the triumph.

For the season, Brown ranks in the top-10 of the conference in steals per game and assists per game with averages of 1.9 and 2.9 which sit eight and 10th respectively on top of 9.0 points with 4.5 rebounds. She has eclipsed double-digit points in each of Concordia's last four outings, scoring 20 points twice.

It is Brown's first acknowledgment from the conference office, and marks the second-consecutive season the Concordia has received one Rookie of the Week nod with current sophomore guard Sara Hopkins (Mountain Top, Pa.) receiving the distinction on Feb. 25, 2019.

The Clippers host Dominican College (N.Y.) on Wednesday, Jan. 15 in a 5 p.m. contest.
