LAKEWOOD, N.J. – Freshman guard Christina Brown (Ardmore, Pa.) established her collegiate career-high Sunday afternoon behind 27 points, helping the Concordia College New York women's basketball team erase a 15-point deficit midway through the third quarter and knot the score with under four minutes remaining against Southern Ne Hampshire University with the Penmen fending off the Clippers' late rally in a 77-74 setback.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Brown's team-leading points total came off of 9-19 shooting with the freshman adding a team-high five assists.
• Junior Shanice Graves (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scored 16 points with six rebounds and three steals.
• Senior guard Nicole Nicholson (Staten Island, N.Y.) chipped in 13 points with two steals.
• Junior guard Brenna Cloud (Delran, N.J.) pulled down a team-high seven rebounds,
• For Southern New Hampshire, Adriana Timberlake scored 19 points while Victoria Dean registered 10 rebounds and four assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• After matching Southern New Hampshire's 4-0 start to the contest with back-to-back baskets, the Penmen used a 5-0 run to pull ahead 9-4 with 6:25 left in the quarter. The Clippers rallied behind a 6-2 stretch to get within one at 11-10, with the two sides splitting the ensuing 10 points before a 9-0 spurt by SNHU created a 25-15 score with 1:50 left in the quarter. Concordia connected on a jumper and triple to make it 25-20, with both sides scoring a basket before the end of the frame with the Clippers' coming on a buzzer beater to make it 27-22.
• Concordia scored seven of the opening 10 points of the second quarter to get within one at 30-29, but a 5-0 retort by the Penmen made it 35-29 with 4:44 remaining in the half. The Clippers ended the spree with a basket, only for an 8-2 stretch creating a 43-33 score with 1:23 left in the frame. The Clippers scored the final four points of the half, including a triple at the buzzer, to make it 43-37 at the break.
• Southern New Hampshire used an 8-0 run to start the third quarter to take a 51-37 lead with 8:13 remaining. The Penmen created a game-high 15-point separation at 62-47 with 3:10 left in the quarter before a 10-2 stretch by Concordia to end the frame made it 64-57 going into the final quarter.
• The Clippers made it a one-possession affair behind a basket and two free throws to start the final quarter, with SNHU using back-to-back baskets to pull ahead 68-61 with 7:38 remaining in the game. The Clippers knotted the score at 69-all, only for back-to-back baskets by Southern New Hampshire creating a 73-69 score with 1:33 remaining. Concordia got within one at 74-43 off a Nicholson layup with 21 seconds left, with the Penman scoring three of the final four points to end the contest.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• The Clippers converted on 27-72 shots, going 8-27 from three-point territory and 12-23 from the free throw line.
• Southern New Hampshire finished 26-55 from the field, 6-17 from distance and 19-25 from the free throw line.
• Concordia recorded 12 assists while SNHU had 17.
• Concordia held a 40-39 advantage in reboudns.
• Concordia committed 10 turnovers, resulting in 10 points for Southern New Hampshire. The Penmen had 20 turnovers, leading to 25 points.
• Concordia recorded 11 steals while SNHU had four with one block.
• Concordia' bench scored 32 points while the Penmen got 29 from its bench.
