Women’s Basketball Hosts Bloomfield Wednesday

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Concordia College New York women's basketball team returns to the friendly confines of the Meyer Athletic Center to host Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division rival Bloomfield College on Wednesday, Jan. 30 in a 5 p.m. conference matchup.

About the Clippers
Concordia (4-15, 2-8 CACC) returns to its homecourt after falling at Chestnut Hill College 62-51 on Sunday, Jan. 27. The Clippers average 59.5 points on a .351 field goal percentage with 35.2 rebounds, 13.6 assists, 8.4 steals and 2.1 blocks.

Sophomore guard Cameron Corbett (Staten Island, N.Y.) leads a trio of Clippers that average double-digit scoring with 13.5 points, adding 3.3 assists per game that ranks eighth in the league. Junior guard Nicole Nicholson (Staten Island, N.Y.) sparks the defense behind 2.1 steals, the seventh-highest average in the league, on top of 10.4 points while sophomore forward Sabrina Clement (Queens, N.Y.) pulls down a team-best 7.4 rebounds that ranks sixth and leads the CACC with 10.5 boards per conference game. Junior center Amiya Rankins (Somerset, N.J.) records a team-best 0.7 blocks per game to go with 10.8 points while her 23.5 points per 40 minute average ranks fourth in the conference.

About the Bears
Bloomfield (4-15, 3-7 CACC) plays the final contest of its current three-game road swing after falling at Georgian Court University 79-58 on Saturday, Jan. 26. The Bears average 53.9 points on a .325 field goal percentage with 38.8 rebounds, 10.5 assists, 7.7 steals and 2.2 blocks.

Deja McKenzie leads the Bears behind 13.6 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals with her rebound and steals averages ranking fourth and tied for eighth in the CACC, respectively. Caitlin Townes dishes out a team-leading 2.9 assists, while Illysia Lewis and Bobbi Floyd match McKenzie with 0.5 blocks.
