Women’s Basketball Hosts Post In CACC Play Saturday

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Concordia College (N.Y.) women's basketball team plays its final game inside the Meyer Athletic Center of 2018 on Saturday, Dec. 8, when Post University comes to town for a 1 p.m. Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest.

Concordia (2-6, 0-1 CACC) wraps up its current three-game homestand, which the Clippers have gone 1-1 so far, after a slow first quarter proved too much to overcome in a 77-68 loss against Caldwell University on Tuesday, Dec. 4. The Clippers lead the CACC in assists per game with 15.8 while averaging 61.5 points on a .367 field goal percentage with 35.4 rebounds, 7.8 steals and 2.6 blocks.

Junior center Amiya Rankins (Somerset, N.J.) leads three Clippers that average double-digit scoring with 14.3, the seventh-highest average in the conference, on a .495 field goal percentage that ranks 10th while matching sophomore forward Sabrina Clement (Queens, N.Y.) for the sixth-best blocks per game rate in the league at 1.0. Sophomore guard Cameron Corbett (Staten Island, N.Y.) chips in 12.6 points and 3.9 assists, ranking fifth in the league and second on the team behind fellow sophomore guard Saundra Cleckley (Queens, N.Y.) who dishes out the second-most assists in the CACC with 4.4. Junior guard Nicole Nicholson (Staten Island, N.Y.) rounds out the trio averaging double-digit points with 10.1 while sparking the defense behind 2.5 steals that ties for fourth in the league.

About the Eagles
Post (3-5, 1-1 CACC) concludes its five-game road swing after falling at Dominican College (N.Y.) 71-66 on Tuesday, Dec. 4. The Eagles rank second within the league in rebounds with 42.1 while averaging 59.9 points on a .353 clip with 9.3 assists, 7.3 steals and 2.8 blocks.

Sha'Raya Haines paces the Eagles' offense with 10.4 points, followed by Mia Crooms who chips in 10.0 points and a team-leading 6.4 rebounds. Gabriela Middleton dishes out a team-high 2.6 assists and sparks the defense behind 1.9 steals.
