Concordia Women's Basketball Drops an 85-42 Decision at Jefferson

PHILADELPHIA – The Concordia College women's basketball team dropped an 85-42 decision at Jefferson University on Sunday afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action.

The Rams would lead 15-2 early in the first quarter as the Clippers cut their deficit to 10, 18-8,at the 2:30 mark. Jefferson ended the period with nine unanswered points to hold a 27-8 advantage after 10 minutes of play. In the second quarter the Rams began with a 13-1 run as Concordia trailed 40-9. The Clippers responded with a 10-6 run as Concordia went into the locker room behind 46-19.

In the third quarter the Clippers only scored two points as Jefferson scored 24 points in the period to lead 70-21 going into the final quarter. A 5-2 run for Concordia began the fourth period, but the deficit would be too much to overcome as the Rams went on to take the 85-42 win.

Freshman Saundra Cleckley (Queens, N.Y.) came off the bench for the Clippers to lead the team with nine points while adding four rebounds and three steals. Senior Julianne Wilkinson (Red Hook, N.Y.) added seven points while senior Hadiyah Black (Brooklyn, N.Y.) finished with a team-high seven rebounds.

Concordia (2-17, 2-8 CACC) will return home on Wednesday to host Nyack College in the Meyer Athletic Center.
