Women's Basketball Falls to Saint Anselm, 94-52

LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The Concordia College women's basketball team concluded their visit to the Georgian Court University Invitational on Sunday with a matchup against Saint Anselm College. The Clippers were unable to come away with the win as the Hawks secured a 94-52 victory at the GCU Wellness Center.

Concordia trailed 8-0 in the first quarter as Saint Anselm held a double-digit lead at the 4:43 mark. The Clippers managed only six points during the first 10 minutes of play as the Hawks led 23-6 after the first period.

Concordia would be held scoreless for the first 2:54 of the second quarter as Saint Anselm led 33-13 at the 5:36 mark. The Clippers would score 15 points during the remainder of the period, but trailed 47-28 at halftime.

In the third quarter Concordia scored only four points over the first eight minutes as the Hawks used a 23-4 run to lead 70-32. The Clippers would score seven points during the final minute and a half of the period as Concordia trailed 74-39 after three quarters of play.

The final period had Saint Anselm maintain their advantage on the scoreboard as the Clippers were unable to cut into the deficit. The Hawks would out-score Concordia 20-13 overall in the quarter as Saint Anselm took the 94-52 win.

Senior Julianne Wilkinson (Red Hook, N.Y.) recorded a team-high 19 points for the Clippers in the defeat as freshman Cameron Corbett (Staten Island, N.Y.) came off the bench to score a career-high eight points. Freshman Jackie Ciccotto (Staten Island, N.Y.) finished with a team-best five rebounds off the bench.
