Clippers Women's Basketball Concludes Weekend Dropping a 55-36 Decision to Merrimack

LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The Concordia Clippers women's basketball team concluded their opening weekend of games against Merrimack College on Sunday afternoon. Concordia was unable to come away with a victory as the Warriors took a 55-36 win at Georgian Court University.

Merrimack would hold the Clippers to only one point in the first quarter as after 10 minutes of play the Warriors held a 14-1 lead. Concordia began the second quarter with a field goal as the Clippers used a 5-1 run to cut their deficit to 16-6 with 5:43 remaining in the half. Merrimack responded with five unanswered points as Concordia ended the quarter on a 7-2 run as the Warriors led 23-13 at halftime.

An 8-4 run for Merrimack began the third quarter as the Clippers would respond with seven straight points to get within single digits, 31-24, with 2:28 remaining in the period. The Warriors ended the quarter with six of the last eight points as Merrimack held a 37-26 advantage after three periods. Concordia would be outscored 18-10 in the last 10 minutes of the game as the Clippers only scored three field goals in the quarter as the Warriors took a 55-36 win.

Senior Jessica Rosalbo (Staten Island, N.Y.) led Concordia with 10 points as she also had four rebounds, four steals, and three assists. Junior Hadiyah Black (Brooklyn, N.Y.) came off the bench to add eight points and a game-high 16 rebounds.
