Women's Basketball Drops CACC Road Game to Goldey-Beacom, 64-47

WILMINGTON, Del. – The Concordia Clippers women's basketball team battled Goldey-Beacom College on Saturday afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game on the road. Concordia was unable to come away with the victory as the Lightning secured a 64-47 win.

The Clippers came out in the first quarter with a 5-0 lead as Concordia opened up a 10 point advantage at the 4:18 mark, 13-3. Goldey-Beacom would then close the remainder of the period on a 15-4 run as the Lightning took an 18-17 lead into the second quarter.

The second period began with the Clippers using a 6-4 run to regain a 23-22 lead at the 8:05 mark. Concordia ended the half scoreless as Goldey-Beacom used 15 unanswered points to go into the locker room with a 37-23 advantage.

The Lightning began the third quarter with five straight points as the Clippers broke their scoring drought at the 6:04 mark. This sparked an 8-5 run for Concordia to end the period as Goldey-Beacom maintained a 47-31 lead after three quarters.

A 9-3 run for the Lightning began the fourth period as the Clippers trailed 56-34 at the 7:09 mark. Concordia would close out the quarter on a 9-1 run, but it would not be enough as Goldey-Beacom held on for the 64-47 victory.

Junior Jessica Rosalbo (Staten Island, N.Y.) led the Clippers with 13 points, five assists, and three steals while senior Khadijah Donaldson (Valley Stream, N.Y.) added 10 points and five rebounds. Sophomore Hadiyah Black (Brooklyn, N.Y.) recorded a game-high 16 rebounds while adding eight points.

Concordia (4-18, 2-13 CACC) will return home on Tuesday evening for a CACC North Division matchup against Dominican College (N.Y.).
