Clippers Women's Basketball Upended by Bloomfield in CACC Action

BLOOMFIELD, N.J. – The Concordia College women's basketball team visited Bloomfield College for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division game on Wednesday evening. The Clippers would be upended by the Bears, 78-42, as Bloomfield remains perfect in CACC play.

The first quarter began with Concordia trailing 4-0 as the Clippers used a 7-4 run to get within a point at the 3:23 mark, 8-7. The Bears would use back-to-back baskets to regain their advantage as Concordia ended the period with two free throws to trail 12-9 after 10 minutes of action.

Bloomfield began the second quarter with a 12-3 run to take a 24-12 advantage midway through the period. The Clippers would then manage only one point over the last five-plus minutes of the half as the Bears ended the period with 17 unanswered points to take a 41-13 lead into the locker room.

In the third quarter Bloomfield began with an 11-2 run to hold a 52-15 advantage, but Concordia would respond with nine straight points to bring the score to 52-24 at the 3:40 mark. Both sides alternated points to end the period as the Clippers went into the fourth quarter trailing 58-30.

The final quarter saw the Bears begin with an 8-2 run as Concordia would answer back with seven unanswered points. Bloomfield ended the game on a 12-3 run as the Clippers would fall to the Bears, 78-42.

Junior Jessica Rosalbo (Staten Island, N.Y.) led the offense for Concordia with 16 points while sophomore Julianne Wilkinson (Red Hook, N.Y.) chipped in with 10 points. Sophomore Hadiyah Black (Brooklyn, N.Y.) recorded a team-high seven rebounds while adding nine points.

The Clippers (4-17, 2-12 CACC) will next visit Goldey-Beacom College on Saturday afternoon for a 1 p.m. game in Wilmington, Del.
