Women's Basketball Defeated in Non-Conference Action at Saint Rose

ALBANY, N.Y. - The Concordia College women's basketball team visited The College of Saint Rose on Monday evening for their final non-conference game of the regular season. The Clippers would not be able to grab a win at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium as the Golden Knights captured the 64-49 victory.

The two sides traded the lead in the first quarter six times in the early going until Concordia used a 6-2 run to hold a 12-9 advantage at the 5:48 mark. The Clippers would only score one more time in the remainder of the period, but after 10 minutes of play held a 15-14 lead.

Saint Rose began the second quarter with nine straight points to lead 23-15 with 7:31 to go in the half. Concordia broke their scoreless drought at the 7:06 mark as the Golden Knights maintained a double digit lead for much of the quarter and went into the locker room leading 34-24.

In the third quarter both teams traded baskets until a 7-2 run for the Clippers cut their deficit to 42-37 at the 4:05 mark. Saint Rose rebounded with a 12-1 run to end the period as Concordia trailed 54-38 with one quarter remaining.

The Golden Knights began the fourth quarter with five straight points as the Clippers trailed by 21 points. An 8-2 run for Concordia midway through the period brought the Clippers within 16 at 62-46 with 4:07 to go. Saint Rose would continue to maintain their advantage as Concordia would fall 64-49.

Sophomore Hadiyah Black (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led the Clippers with 14 points and 10 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season. Sophomores Brianna Hendrick (Valley Stream, N.Y.), Julianne Wilkinson (Red Hook, N.Y.), and junior Jessica Rosalbo (Staten Island, N.Y.) each added eight points for Concordia.

The Clippers (3-12) will next host Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division foe Nyack College on Wednesday evening.
