Women's Basketball Earns Important CACC North Division Victory Over Felician, 51-39

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Concordia College women's basketball team returned to the court less than 24 hours after their non-conference victory on Wednesday evening. The Clippers would earn an important victory at Felician University, 51-39, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division matchup at Job Gymnasium.

The first quarter began with Concordia scoring the game's first basket and would hold a slim margin at 7-4 at the 4:46 mark. The Golden Falcons would respond with back-to-back buckets to take an 8-7 advantage, but the Clippers ended the period on a 4-2 run to hold an 11-10 lead at the first break.

Concordia started off the second quarter with a quick three-point basket to extend their lead and eventually opened up a six-point advantage at the 5:15 mark. Both sides would go scoreless for the next 3:40 and the Clippers would go into the locker room with a 22-18 lead at halftime.

In the third quarter Concordia came out with with an 11-2 run to take a double digit advantage at 33-20. Felician would net back-to-back layups to cut the deficit to single digits as both sides alternated points over the final 3:56 of the period and the Clippers held a 41-32 lead going into the fourth quarter.

The final period saw the Golden Falcons get with eight points at 44-36 just a minute into the quarter. Concordia would utilize the clock for the remainder of the game and held a 7-3 scoring advantage in that span as the Clippers took a 51-39 win.

Sophomore Hadiyah Black (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led Concordia with game-highs of 13 points and 16 rebounds to record her second straight double-double. Sophomore Julianne Wilkinson (Red Hook, N.Y.) came off the bench to score nine points and dish out three assists as the Clippers held an opponent to less than 40 points for the first time since a 71-28 victory at Nyack on December 4, 2012.

Concordia (3-6, 1-4 CACC) will close out 2015 with one final game on Friday evening at Pace University.
