Concordia Women's Basketball Falls at Caldwell in CACC North Division Matchup

CALDWELL, N.J. – The Concordia Clippers women's basketball team visited Caldwell University for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division matchup on Tuesday evening. Concordia was unable to come away with a victory at the Newman Center as the Cougars secured a 76-47 win.

Caldwell came out in the first quarter with a 5-0 lead as the Clippers would slowly cut into their deficit. Concordia used their three-point shooting to get within a point at 11-10 with 3:09 left in the period as the Clippers ended the quarter with the last three points to tie the score at 15-15.

Concordia scored the opening points of the second quarter but the Cougars used a 19-4 run for the remainder of the quarter to take a 34-21 lead into the locker room. The Clippers were held scoreless for the last 4:56 of the second quarter.

The third quarter saw Concordia begin with a 7-3 run to get back within single digits at 37-28. Caldwell would open up a 25 point lead after a 15-0 run later in the quarter as the Cougars continued to control the scoreboard and take a 56-32 advantage into the fourth quarter.

The Clippers look to get back into the game with another strong three-point shooting performance to begin the last period. Caldwell would continue to score at will as Concordia was unable to mount a comeback, falling to the Cougars 76-47.

Sophomore Julianne Wilkinson (Red Hook, N.Y.) led the Clippers with 14 points which included four three-point baskets as sophomore Hadiyah Black (Brooklyn, N.Y.) chipped in with 12 points and a team-high eight rebounds.

Concordia (1-3, 0-2 CACC) will take the remainder of the week off for the Thanksgiving holiday as their next game will be on Wednesday, December 2nd.
