Women's Basketball Concludes Season with 71-61 Defeat at Home to Felician

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - The Concordia Clippers women's basketball team concluded their season on Tuesday evening with a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division matchup against the Felician Golden Falcons. Concordia was unable to secure a win in their last game of the year as Felician took a 71-61 victory in the Meyer Athletic Center.

Prior to the start of the game seniors Mariah Berry (Southington, Conn.), KellyAnn Caravello (Amity Harbor, N.Y.), and Selbe Lo (Dakar, Senegal, Africa) were all honored for their hard work and dedication to the women's basketball program over their careers with the Clippers.

In the first half the Golden Falcons jumped out to the early 6-0 lead and nine unanswered points for Felician later in the half gave the away team a double digit lead midway through the period, 18-7. Concordia responded with a 9-2 run to get within four points with 6:43 remaining. The Golden Falcons would hold the Clippers scoreless for the last 5:13 of the first half as Concordia went into the locker room trailing 29-20.

The second half saw the Clippers come out with seven unanswered points to cut the deficit to a basket at 29-27. Concordia kept the score close and after a 7-2 run the Clippers held a 42-39 lead with 10:11 to go in the game. Felician used their strong three-point shooting to reclaim the lead as eight straight points for the Golden Falcons allowed them to hold a 10 points lead, 65-55, with 2:34 to go. Concordia was unable to mount a late comeback as Felician held on for the 71-61 win.

Caravello led the Clippers with a career-high 22 points while adding four three-point baskets, four rebounds, and two assists. Lo finished with 11 points and nine rebounds while sophomore Jessica Rosalbo (Staten Island, N.Y.) chipped in with 10 points, four rebounds, and four assists.
