Concordia Women's Basketball Falls in CACC North Division Game at Caldwell

CALDWELL, N.J. - The Concordia Clippers women's basketball team played in their final road game of the season on Tuesday evening at Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division foe Caldwell University. Concordia was unable to come away with the victory as the Cougars secured an 82-42 win at the Newman Center.

Caldwell began the first half with a 5-0 lead as the Clippers would cut the deficit to 7-4 at the 17:22 mark. The Cougars then rallied off eight unanswered points to open up a double digit advantage. Concordia would then get to within eight points with 9:32 remaining on the clock until an 11-0 run for Caldwell brought the score to 35-16 in favor of the home team. The Clippers ended the half on a 10-4 run but went into the locker room trailing 39-26.

In the second half the Cougars came out scoring 10 unanswered points to take a 49-26 advantage. The drought for Concordia was snapped at the 15:56 mark after a layup by senior Selbe Lo (Dakar, Senegal, Africa). Caldwell would continue their strong offensive play in the second half as the Clippers were out-scored 43-16. The Cougars would end the game on a 16-4 run to claim the 82-42 victory.

Sophomore Jessica Rosalbo (Staten Island, N.Y.) led Concordia with 11 points while adding two steals while Lo chipped in with nine points and a team-high nine rebounds. The Clippers shot 35.2% from the field in the game while Caldwell shot 53.4%. Concordia was edged 33-31 in rebounds as the Cougars held a 36-22 points in the paint advantage.

The Clippers (4-20, 4-13 CACC) will return home for their final two games to close out the regular season.
