Concordia Women's Basketball Upended on the Road Against USciences

PHILADELPHIA - The Concordia Clippers women's basketball team visited the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) South Division's top team, the University of the Sciences, on Saturday afternoon. Concordia would be upended at Morgan Arena as the Devils secured a 71-43 victory.

The first half saw the Clippers fall behind 17-4 in the early going as USciences connected on five three-point baskets in the first five minutes of play. Concordia used a 6-0 run to cut the deficit to single digits but the Devils responded with 10 unanswered points to hold a 27-10 lead midway through the period. The Clippers would be out-scored 17-3 at the end of the half as Concordia went into the locker room trailing 49-22.

USciences began the second half with a 9-2 run as the Clippers would trail by 34 points. Later in the half Concordia would outscore the Devils 9-6 over a six minute span. A 10-2 run for the Clippers cut the deficit to 25 points at the three minute mark but Concordia was unable to get any closer as USciences went on to claim the 71-43 win.

Freshman Brianna Hendrick (Valley Stream, N.Y.) led the Clippers with a career-high 13 points while adding six rebounds as senior Selbe Lo (Dakar, Senegal, Africa) added eight points, eight rebounds, and five assists.

As a team Concordia shot 35.7% from the field while the Devils shot 44.4% in the game. The Clippers held a 39-36 rebounding advantage while USciences scored 28 points off of Concordia's 21 turnovers.

The Clippers (3-17, 3-10 CACC) will return home to the Meyer Athletic Center for their next game on Tuesday, February 10th.
