Clippers Women's Basketball Falls to CACC North Division Foe Dominican (N.Y.)

ORANGEBURG, N.Y. - The Concordia College women's basketball team fell to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division foe Dominican College (N.Y.) on Wednesday evening, 73-55, at the Hennessy Center.

In the first half the Clippers took an early 6-2 advantage as Concordia would control the scoreboard in the early going. The Chargers used a 12-2 run late in the period to take a 24-17 lead with under five minutes to go as Dominican's 23-6 run to end the half gave the home team the 35-21 advantage at halftime.

The second half saw the Clippers using a 9-4 run in the early going to attempt a comeback. Concordia would cut their deficit to 16 points following a three-point basket by freshman Julianne Wilkinson (Red Hook, N.Y.) at the 14:10 mark. The Chargers would then begin to pull away on the scoreboard and opened up a 61-40 lead with 9:40 to go. The Clippers would respond with a 13-5 run to get within 13 points with 3:44 remaining but could not get any closer as Dominican held on for the 73-55 victory.

Freshman Hadiyah Black (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led Concordia with a double-double as she had 15 points and 10 rebounds off the bench while sophomore Jessica Rosalbo (Staten Island, N.Y.) added 10 points. As a team the Clippers shot 45.3% from the field while the Chargers shot 36.6%. Dominican held a 46-41 rebounding advantage as Concordia committed 30 turnovers which led to 32 points for Dominican.
