Concordia Women's Basketball Defeated at Home Against Bloomfield, 76-47

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - The Concordia College women's basketball team returned home to the Meyer Athletic Center on Thursday evening for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) matchup against Bloomfield College. The Clippers were unable to capture the win as the Bears secured a 76-47 victory.

In the opening half both teams would showcase a closely contested battle with neither side able to gain an advantage on the scoreboard. Bloomfield would use a 7-0 run to take a 12-6 lead with 12:23 remaining on the clock and would use another run to take a 10 point lead with under 10 minutes to go. Concordia responded with five unanswered points to cut the deficit to five at 18-13 with 5:23 remaining in the period. The Bears ended the half on a 10-4 run as the Clippers went into the locker room trailing 34-24.

The second half saw Bloomfield begin on a 14-4 run to take a 20 point advantage. Concordia would look to cut into their deficit once again but could not get any closer as the Bears went on to take a 76-47 win.

Sophomore Jessica Rosalbo (Staten Island, N.Y.) led the Clippers with 15 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field as she also added three steals and two assists. Freshman Julianne Wilkinson (Red Hook, N.Y.) came off the bench to score 10 points and add three rebounds while senior Selbe Lo (Dakar, Senegal, Africa) added five points and a game-high 15 rebounds.

As a team Concordia shot 35.3% from the field while Bloomfield shot 43.6%. The Clippers held a 39-37 rebounding edge in the game while the Bears held a 34-22 points in the paint advantage.

Concordia (3-14, 3-7 CACC) will host Wilmington (Del.) on Saturday, January 31st for a CACC game. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. as fans unable to attend can follow the action by accessing the live stats and video links under the women's basketball schedule page on ConcordiaClippers.com.
