Concordia Women's Basketball Falls on the Road to Queens (N.Y.)

FLUSHING, N.Y. - The Concordia College women's basketball team visited Queens College (N.Y.) for a non-conference game on Monday evening. The Clippers would fall to the Knights, 92-34, at Fitzgerald Gymnasium.

Concordia began the first half by falling behind 13-0 with their first field goal occurring six minutes into the period. The Clippers would go on a 7-4 run to get within 10 points of Queens but the Knights would then respond with seven unanswered points to hold a 24-7 advantage. Queens ended the first half on a 16-0 run as Concordia went into the locker room trailing 52-16.

In the second half the Clippers scored the opening point but could not gain any more ground on the Knights. Queens would out-score Concordia 40-18 in the second half as the Clippers fell 92-34.

Senior KellyAnn Caravello (Amity Harbor, N.Y.) led Concordia with a season-high 12 points off the bench. Freshman Julianne Wilkinson (Red Hook, N.Y.) chipped in with nine points.

As a team the Clippers shot a season-low 19.3% from the field while the Knights shot a season-best 55.1% from the field. Concordia had their second-best free-throw shooting performance of the season (81.8%) but were out-rebounded 49-33 in the game.

The Clippers (2-9) will return to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action on Wednesday evening with a road game against Nyack College.
