Black's Double-Double Leads Clippers Women's basketball to a 65-55 Victory over CACC Foe Caldwell

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Freshman Hadiyah Black (Brooklyn, N.Y.) would have a career night for the Concordia Clippers women's basketball team on Wednesday evening against Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe Caldwell University. Her career-bests of 15 points and 18 rebounds led Concordia to the 65-55 win over the Cougars in the Meyer Athletic Center.

The Clippers would never trail in the game as the first half began with Concordia taking the early 15-4 advantage after a three-point basket by senior Mariah Berry (Southington, Conn.) with 12:26 showing on the clock. Caldwell would then us a 12-2 run to get withing a point with under nine minutes to play in the half but the Clippers would finish the half on a strong note to go into the locker room with a 35-30 lead.

In the second half Concordia would use 10 unanswered points early on to gain a double-digit advantage with 15:24 remaining. The Clippers' three-point shooting would keep the Cougars at a double-digit deficit until a 6-0 run for Caldwell got them within single-digits with 4:44 to go. Concordia would not allow the Cougars to get any closer as the Clippers would take the 65-55 victory.

Sophomore Jessica Rosalbo (Staten Island, N.Y.) led Concordia in scoring with 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field while adding five rebounds and a game-high four assists. Senior Selbe Lo (Dakar, Senegal, Africa) came off the bench for the Clippers to record a season-best 11 points. Concordia shot a season-high 51.9% from the field as the Clippers also held a 44-32 rebounding advantage.

Concordia (2-7, 2-2 CACC) will be off for the next couple weeks for the holiday break. The Clippers will next travel to Georgian Court University for a CACC matchup on Saturday, January 3rd. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. in Lakewood, N.J. as the game begins seven straight road matches for Concordia.
