Lady Clippers Basketball Falls to Dominican (N.Y.), 69-52

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Concordia Clippers women's basketball team hosted Dominican College (N.Y.) for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division matchup on Tuesday evening. Concordia was unable to grab their first win of the season as the Chargers took a 69-52 victory in the Meyer Athletic Center.

In the first half Dominican began with a 7-0 lead and would open up their advantage to 15 points at 18-3 with 12:04 remaining on the clock. The Clippers then fought back and used an 11-5 run during the last five minutes of play to cut the deficit to 11 points at 32-21 going into the locker room.

Concordia would continue to slowly chip away at the Chargers' lead as the Clippers scored the first six points of the half to trail 32-27. Dominican would respond with consecutive three-point baskets to regain their double-digit advantage at 38-37. Concordia would have one last run at the Chargers but could not get any closer than eight points as Dominican would go on to take the 69-52 win.

Freshman Julianne Wilkinson (Red Hook, N.Y.) came off the bench for the Clippers to lead the team with a career-high of 18 points which included a 9-for-11 performance from the foul line. Senior Selbe Lo (Dakar, Senegal, Africa) chipped in with a season-best 10 points and 10 rebounds for the double-double while freshman Brianna Hendrick (Valley Stream, N.Y.) tallied a career-best 17 rebounds.

Concordia shot 25.9% from the field in the game while the Chargers shot 40.6%. The Clippers held a 49-43 rebounding advantage while Dominican out-scored Concordia 14-0 in fast break points.

The Clippers (0-4, 0-2 CACC) will next travel to East Stroudsburg, Pa. to participate in the 50th Annual Pocono Classic.
