Women's Basketball Drops CACC Game at Philadelphia, 94-67

Philadelphia, Pa. – The Concordia Clippers women's basketball team traveled to Philadelphia University on Saturday afternoon for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game against the Rams. Concordia was unable to come away with a win at the Gallagher Center as Philadelphia took a 94-67 victory.

Both teams would begin the game scoring early as the teams combined to score 15 points in the first 3:21 of play. The Clippers would not fall behind by more then five points over much of the first half until the Rams began knocking down their three-point attempts. Philadelphia would use a 10-3 run to open up a nine point advantage with 5:30 remaining in he first half. Concordia would trail by double-digits over the last few minutes of the period but ended the half on a 7-2 run to only be behind 44-33.

In the second half the Rams began with six straight points to open up a 17 point advantage. The Clippers were unable to score their first field goal in the half until 10:29 remained on the clock. Concordia was unable to overcome the deficit as Philadelphia would go on to take a 94-67 win to improve to 19-6 overall and 17-1 in the CACC.

Five players scored in double figures for the Clippers as juniors Megan Burns (Staten Island, N.Y.) and Mariah Berry (Southington, Conn.) both scored a team-high 13 points for Concordia. Freshman Jessica Rosalbo (Staten Island, N.Y.) added 12 points while senior Tara-Ann Rock (Queens, N.Y.) chipped in with 10 points for the Clippers and junior Alyssa Dawson (Westwood, N.J.) finished with 10 points and a team-best eight rebounds.

Concordia (0-25, 0-18 CACC) will play in their final game of the season on Tuesday evening. The Clippers will visit Felician College for a CACC North Division matchup in Rutherford, N.J.
