Lady Clippers Drop Road Game, 78-62, Against Nyack

Nyack, N.Y. – The Concordia Clippers women's basketball team battled Nyack College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division game on Tuesday evening. The matchup would be their second of the season as the Warriors took a 78-62 victory to sweep the season series.

Both teams began the game looking to grab an early advantage as neither team was able to take a sizable lead in the early going. Nyack would use a 9-2 run to take a 12-6 advantage with 12:43 remaining in the period. Shortly thereafter Concordia would us an 8-3 run to cut their deficit to two points at the midway mark of the half. The Warriors would end the final 4:30 of the period with a 15-4 advantage as the Clippers would go into the locker room trailing 44-30.

In the second half Nyack would maintain their lead despite a late run by Concordia. The Clippers scored seven unanswered points to trail by 12 with 5:47 remaining in the game. The Warriors would not allow Concordia to cut their deficit to single digits as strong free throw shooting by Nyack allowed the home team to take a 78-62 win in Bowman Gymnasium.

Senior Tara-Ann Rock (Queens, N.Y.) set another career-high in points for the second straight game for the Clippers. Rock recorded 17 points while adding four rebounds and three assists. Freshman Victoria Rubin (Staten Island, N.Y.) added nine points off the bench while junior Selbe Lo (Dakar, Senegal, Africa) chipped in with eight points and a team-best eight rebounds.

Concordia (0-22, 0-15 CACC) will return home for back-to-back games in the Meyer Athletic Center. The Clippers will host Holy Family on Saturday, February 15th at 1 p.m. as fans unable to attend the game can follow all of the action via the live video and stats links on ConcordiaClippers.com.
