Concordia Defeated at Home, 71-51, against Dominican

Bronxville, N.Y. – The Concordia Clippers women's basketball team hosted Dominican College (N.Y.) in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division showdown on Thursday evening. The Chargers would come away with a 71-51 win in the Meyer Athletic Center as Dominican swept the season series between the two teams.

The game began with the Chargers taking an early 9-1 lead as Concordia would trail by as much as 17-2 five minutes into play. Junior Selbe Lo (Dakar, Senegal, Africa) would stop the drought as she would score the next four points for the Clippers. Dominican would continue their strong offensive play in the half and after 20 minutes the Chargers led 40-19.

In the second half Concordia was unable to cut into their deficit as Dominican would keep a 20-point lead for much of the period. The Chargers would come away with a 71-51 victory, their sixth win in conference play.

Lo led the Clippers with a season-best 12 points while adding nine rebounds. Freshman Jessica Rosalbo (Staten Island, N.Y.) added 10 points and four rebounds while freshman Victoria Rubin (Staten Island, N.Y.) chipped in with nine points off the bench. Concordia shot 27.1% from the field in the game while Dominican shot 36.2% and also held a 45-36 rebounding advantage.

The Clippers (0-20, 0-13 CACC) will be back on the court Saturday afternoon as Concordia will battle USciences in their only matchup of the season. Tip off is set for 1 p.m. as fans unable to attend the game can follow all of the action via the live stats and video links on ConcordiaClippers.com.
