Clippers Upended at Post, 91-62

Waterbury, Conn. – The Concordia Clippers women's basketball team took to the court of the Drubner Center on Tuesday evening for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division game against the Post University Eagles. Concordia was unable to come away with a victory as Post secured their fifth conference win of the season, 91-62, over the Clippers.

The Eagles began the game with an early 10-2 lead and eventually extended their advantage to 31-10 with 11:31 remaining in the first half. Concordia was unable to cut into their deficit late in the period as Post would go into the locker room with a 59-29 advantage.

In the second half the Clippers were unable to mount a comeback as the Eagles would maintain their advantage. Post would go on to capture the 91-62 victory over Concordia as the Eagles swept both games against the Clippers this season.

Junior Alyssa Dawson (Westwood, N.J.) led Concordia with 16 points and seven rebounds as she shot 5-of-6 from the field and 6-of-6 from the foul line. Freshman Jessica Rosalbo (Staten Island, N.Y.) added 11 points, four rebounds, and two steals as she has now scored in double figures in her ninth consecutive game.

As a team the Clippers shot 37.9% but committed 23 turnovers which led to 28 points for Post.

Concordia (0-16, 0-9 CACC) will be off for a week and a half until their next game on Saturday, January 25th.
