Women's Basketball Falls in CACC Game, 72-59, to Felician

Bronxville, N.Y. – The Concordia College women's basketball team took the the court of the Meyer Athletic Center on Saturday afternoon to take on Felician College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division game. The Clippers were unable to earn the win against the Golden Falcons as Felician secured a 72-59 victory for their fifth victory of the season.

The first half began with both teams keeping the score close as neither side was able to take a sizable lead. The Golden Falcons would use a 10-0 run midway through the half to take a 21-15 advantage. Concordia would respond with a 7-3 run to get within four points after a three-point play by sophomore Khadijah Donaldson (Valley Stream, N.Y.) with 3:37 remaining in the period. Felician would end the half on a 7-1 run as the Clippers went into the locker room trailing 37-27.

In the second half Concordia was unable to cut into the deficit until two consecutive three-point baskets for the Clippers allowed them to get within single digits with six minutes left on the clock. The Golden Falcons would knock down their free-throw attempts in the closing minutes as Felician would go on to take a 72-59 victory.

Freshman Jessica Rosalbo (Staten Island, N.Y.) led Concordia with 14 points, tying her career-high, while adding three steals. Junior Alyssa Dawson (Westwood, N.J.) recorded a double-double as she finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds while Donaldson tied her career-best with six points.

The Golden Falcons shot 40.3% from the field while the Clippers shot 39.6%. Felician would also hold a 44-32 rebounding advantage as Concordia scored 26 points off of the Golden Falcons' turnovers.

The Clippers (0-15, 0-8 CACC) will be on the road for the next game as Concordia will battle Post for the second time this season on Tuesday, Jan. 14th.
